Cal
Hi all, I recently gor a CZ .222. I find the bolt a bit stiff when i chamber a round and close it. Is this ok and safe? Is it because its new and will get better with time? Would it be the bolt lugs? The rifle shoots accurate and does not seem to have any other problems. Thanks.
Lurch
Probably just the newness of the thing. Are you using factory rounds? i.e. not homeloads

Dunkield
Off Dads Army, maybe you are a bit young :*) Both of my CZ bolts started out stiff but they get better, I put a tiny drop of oil round any parts that mate during the opening and closing. They are great guns no question, but these are not precision rifles don't forget...
Gemini
DON’T PUT OIL ON YOUR BOLT!!!!!!!! Use a small application of very fine grease, because should any oil drip onto your ammo’ it can cause the pressures to increase in the breech. G.M. whippet.22
Where abouts in Devon are you mate? Don't say the exact location i.e. town/village if you don't want to.
Cal
Hi Whippet.22, im in the nort east of Devon mate. Thanks Stuart for the advice. Your right, they are great rifles and mine seems deadly accurate using Federal 50 grain SPs. Im 26 by the way, have heard of dads army, but never watched it. :*) Gemini, i put some oil on the bolt, but only very small amounts, prehaps i should change to grease, thanks. beezer
A wipe with an oily rag is the most lube the outside of your bolt need's.

Sergeant
The only really critical place where you must NOT GET ANY OIL is the bolt face and firing pin. A light oil is all that is needed, I use a shotgun cleaning patch moistened with oil an just wiped.
Frank
My CZ .223 is a bit stiff too funnyly enough, when i go to close the bolt down on a chamberd round. I have tryd a little oil, grease, on the lugs too, but does not seem to make a difference on mine. I have been told since, that the bolt lugs are slightly not cut right at the factory, but pass, as long as they close. With a few hundred rounds threw it, apparently, it should be fine.
