I really like this ground and the people that run it are decent. Although it is pricey. Last year I got a group of 20 together and at the end of the day the owners of the club put on a team flush for us which was great!

Sadly I now live closer to the other side of the country...

Hi Mate, £11 non members 50 clays start 9.30 and the Tea is good. :lol:

Iv'e been a member of Bassett Breakers for over a year now, it's a very friendly club. You turn up at 9.30am, get squaded up, start shooting at 10 and finish, usually at 12.

Hi

Purely out of interest, is that the ground that JK used to own (I say "used to", I thought I read somewhere that he'd sold it)?

Cheers

That's right. About 2 years ago. Now run by Huw Stephens - nice chap, even though he is young and Welsh!! :mad:

cheers,

cheers,

Thanks, Jonny. Nice place. JK used to host and teach the BASC coaching courses. If you got past him, Michael Aldis and the lovely, charming man "Sir" Christopher Craddock you just knew that you had to be doing something right. Even then, that team flush was something else!

Cheers

His Mum and Dad are often there as well, I think you will find they had a hand in purchasing this for Huw.

Yes, it is a pleasant, friendly setup, not cheap, and a little compact, be careful where you leave the motor!!

:lol::angry:

I've been staying with my lad in Swindon this weekend and went to have a look at Basset Breakers ground at Flaxlands on Sunday, unfortunately we a did not fully appreciate you HAVE to be there for 09.30-09.45.

We made several calls to ask about the place with little success, trolled all through Wooton Bassett looking for it and eventually arrived about 11.00. Its well north of Wooton Bassett, actually over the M4 (I'd tell you more but I still don't know where it is, but I logged the location on my Sat Nav for next time)!

It's a field with 5 stands run by those who shoot it, seems pleasant enough set up and at £11 for 50 birds is worth a try, at least the once!

I'll be back to have a go sometime!
