vole
As above really, after my 1st section 1 so thought would start with .17 as it ticks many of the boxes I need it to do. Cant spend much sadly so have my eye on this base model one imported by Edgar Bros. Hard to find if it comes ready screw cut. Anyone know? Cheers. Please note it is not the 917 v or vs.

vole
Thanks Harv. Cant wait to get my hands on it. Hope not to have to get it adapted but if that is what it takes... Never shot the Marlin before but the others I have used have been really nice. Saw lots of crows on the farm today at the 100 to 150 yard mark that I hope to get amongst in a couple of weeks. Will give them a ring but either way I think that is what I will get. Have a Nikko Stirling Gameking 4-16 x 50 for it. Seemed a good deal too. vole
I know that even when moderated there is a bit of a crack with the HMR but is it much louder without Ozzy? Have only shot them moderated and find them ok as in not upsetting the neighbours too much.

vole
Just read your last post Dekers. Answers my question. Ta. Will need a .22 rf too then.
Dekers
Just read your last post Dekers. Answers my question. Ta. Will need a .22 rf too then. If noise is a big issue then a .22lr with subs and almost any mod is a LOT quieter than any HMR with a mod! But the HMR stretches the range and potential stopping ability, I have both, and a WMR, they all have their uses and strong and weak points!! Evil Elvis
but is it much louder without Ozzy? A hell of a lot louder dude, there was some oiks on one of our permissions drunk one night, so i took of my mod and fired a round into a log, made me jump but they scarpered sharpish lol!!! Why not look at a cz, there cant be a lot in it is there? I paid £360 for my silouhette, and its screw cut!!
Ozzy Fudd
I know that even when moderated there is a bit of a crack with the HMR but is it much louder without Ozzy? vole
Plenty of areas I can use the HMR on my main farm I shoot on and .22 or my Hushpower in the sensitive bits. Thanks Elvis, the CZ looks good but have to watch every penny since the Mrs had to reduce her hours. The .22 with subs is amazingly quiet when I have seen them at the range. A must have for the future. Edited March 5, 2010 by vole
hyflier
I fired mine tonight without the moderator on.................The shock wave of the BOOM hit me in the chest, my ears rung for the next few minutes and every dog in earshot went daft. I remember thinking "Right, we ain't doing that again" Oh..........and I missed the blasted Rabbit I was aiming at
