Evening all !,

Been toying with getting a mod'd .410 , looked at a norica 3 shot , a Baikal stealth , a mossberg pump or phantom g12,

heard good and bad for all of them !

like the look of the phantom g12 but heard its not choked and more use for a slug than a conventional cartridge .

mossberg is ok , but i've heard its cartridge fussy.

Baikal is ok , but I looked at the older type and wasn't that impressed . seemed really noisy to open and shut the action .

only looked at the norica from a distance , heard its good but i would need to get it hushed at the saddlery and gunroom ,

advice please

If any ones got one for sale , sing out !

Cheers

Stocky

I've got a Baikal fully modded hushpower in .410 and with 3" carts it kills like a 12 bore if you point it in the right place. With 2.5" its about as quiet as a springer air rifle and does a fairly good job on ferals out to about 25ish yards!

I would strongly reccomend one of these, not to look at as its ugly and crudely finished, but to be used as a tool for a job.

to be honest, they're all ugly guns, and designed for one thing in mind, the only problem i found with the baikals and mossbergs was the size of the damn things, my g12 is really stumpy compared to these.

They are rather huge, mine only just fits in the safe, but I find it well balenced and nice to swing even though my Beretta does feel like a toothpick after using the baikal.

no mention of a PEDRETTI, fully hushpowered, quite if sub sonics are used, I tend to use 3" eleys though,

although I would like a 410 mossberg, they are considerable longer, making the need to remove barrel before storing in cabinet,

and the price difference, mine £200 mossberg around £450 secondhand

  • 3 months later...

recently bought a g12 and really like it, its alot shorter than most .410s and if you can live with the single shot id def recomend it over the baikal hushpower, which ive had too and thought it was very unbalanced. as for the moss, cant comment as ive never used.

hope this helps a little.

I have the Baikal and love it. I went through the same thought process before I bought it and was trying to weigh up the Mossberg against the Baikal.

On one hand you have 3 shots against the one but on the other hand the full moderator is a lot longer so should be more efficient.

The extra shots would be nice but the Baikal does what I need.
