After a short days shooting the crow yesterday, Bobby Dazzler and I decided to go out later that night for a charlie or two and a few bunnies on a couple of farms.

one farm i can use the the .222 so it was only rabbits on the hit list. got there for 8.30 and loaded the battery on the camel and started put the CZ together. got the bolt out the holsterand slid it in.. oh no, its not going all the way in. had a quick look for anything in the way but it was claer. too the bolt out and had a look at the end, ******, wrong bolt, this one is off the .22lr and the rifle in hand was the HMR. well thats that then. not shooting on this farm tonight.

over to the farm we had been shooting on earlier in the day for a charlie. had a quick walk around to see whats about and to see if one would be on the baited birds from earlier. I would like to add at this point that very very few of the baited birds were shot by me.lol. didnt real matter as nothing was hanging around tonight. moon was bright and the charlies that are still around the farm have seen it all before.

We tried to call for a bit in one area that dosent see much lamping, a few minutes later a pair of eyes are glowing on the other side of the other field. carried on calling and checking with the lamp and the eyes were coming closer. it took a while but the eyes were on the fence line but not coming in to the feild we were in but we didnt give up and kept the aller going. it took a while but in came into the filed and stopped about 150 meters out. lamp on it as it sat there so the shot was taken.

dropped on the spot with the privi partizan .222 50gr

nice clear charlie with very white teeth. hate to say it but it was a sort of shame to put end to a lovely looking chap.

 Dont you hate it when that happens!!! I check my bolts before i go out, I have to im paranoid about it. if you dont mark them, look at the groove on the front, the groove is a lot longer in the hmr. ;) Good shooting, just got myself a .222 cant wait to try it out on a charlie or 10!! :hmm:

I've heard the saying "It's time to bite the bullet" but I don't think they meant it to apply to foxes though! :hmm:

That is quite a good looking fox, but mind you, they always look better when they are dead don't they!

This .222 thing must be catching, I've just put the deposit down on a Bruno Fox .222!
