MC
so is it wrong to undertake somebody who's doing under 35 in the right hand lane? (in a 40) Yes it is, I was stopped on the M2 for doing the exact thing, Someone was sitting in the outside lane at 50 so I went past them in the middle lane and there happened to be an unmarked plod car behind me. When I asked why they hadn't pulled the other driver over as you are meant to return to the inside lane as soon as possible I got the riot act read to me. abiteachuck
Right, Firstly how the **** can you say a biker is safer on the road and then in the same sentance state that you are travelling faster than average? Cars may be boring but they are safer and inherently driven in a manner that is not considered to be stupid. Just because a bike can accerelerate fast does not make you invincible, it makes you act like a ****. Yes the car drivers who cut in and out of traffic are all *****, as are the bikers. I would say the same to car drivers/bikers etc who overtake on the inside. Yet you will see 100% of bikers do it. Please take your last piece of advice yourself it sounds like you have`nt got a motorcycle or you would`nt talk like that, let me tell you this, if you were made to take a bike test all car drivers would be a lot better drivers. and i have had both for over 45yrs and still drive quick and safe. turn the music off and think BIKE
Flashman
Isn't there a fetish site more suitable for this thread? Something about donning lots of black leather, mid-life crises, etc..? On a serious note, bikers get exactly the same consideration they show others. Read into that what you will.

burntout
Isn't there a fetish site more suitable for this thread? Something about donning lots of black leather, mid-life crises, etc..? On a serious note, bikers get exactly the same consideration they show others. Read into that what you will. Why do people feel the need to jump in a friendly thread and provoke things? This thread wasnt started to debate the merits of biking nor it's social perception but instead to see who was out for a ride in the nice weather. Not sure about mid life crisis, I'm now 27 and have been riding 11 years, so not sure I fit in to that category....but allow me to also assume you're one of those mobile phone chatting ***** who cuts us up and drives like a pleb? I'm possibly wrong but that is the beauty of assumptions it would seem...I dont have to be right - just prejudice. As with any sport / activity / social group there are those who spoil it as all of us on this forum should be aware of due to the increased negative media attention the sport gets and it only takes one bad egg to spoil it for the rest as rarely do folks remember the bikers who thank you for moving over or ride sensibly - it's the one who comes up the inside lane at over a ton who tars the rest of us. Unfortunately you get d1ckheads on bikes as much as in cars so try not to judge based on the actions of a few who spoil it for the many - and to be fair, they're the ones who are most likely to kill themselves off early through poor riding and road craft. John_R
Well said Burnout, it is a rotten shame that folk see the need to rip into each other with this sort of malice. The same trouble happens when people start banging on about all kinds of things, be it biking, fishing, 4x4... and of course shooting (my four outdoor hobbies). The law abiding ones who keep themselves to themselves are simply never noticed, and those who show off, break the law, cause trouble etc. bring attention upon themselves and tar the rest with the same brush.
