BSA Airsporter mk1

Hi im New to this forum, i have Recently inherited a BSA Airsport mk1 in immaculate condition for it's age and a Gamo .177 target pistol.

I was hoping to use it in my job (Pest Controler) but it has no dovetail rails to mount a scope, so does any one know of what kind of value these would fetch?

The potoetching is clear and clean, it has been well loved and looked after.

Thanks.

I believe you will find 4 crimped sections on the back of the receiver? these are for attaching mounts for a telecopic sight. these are much wider than the latest 11m/m rail section found on air rifles in Great Britain. All is not lost, contact BSA for advice on where you can obtain the mounts suitable. :good:

Not on the Mk 1 you wont ;) If all is lost you could contact John Knibbs at the Country Store (01675) 481006

They can sell you a scope mount you can attach yourself. it will include the grub screws and you will need a dot punch, drill and a 2BA tap.

If you really wanted to sell, you may be lucky and find a collector otherwise they're not particularly valuable sadly as they really were built to last with a leather piston washer too :)

I just looked at Guntrader.co.uk there is a late Mk2 for sale at £399.

If yours is immaculate, and the photo etching is important, maybe you can get a good price for it :good:

Good luck anyway :good:

Crikey mate!!!!

That's a little OTT!!

I bought an immaculate mk1 with tiger striping on the walnut stock and paid £175 for it :good:

Here's the rifle...

Yeah I know Johnbaz ......... Took me by surprise too :good:

I'm not selling it but these things must dip in and out of popularity like antiques I suppose. I think the cheapest one on there was £225. 00. Maybe the seller of yours didn't know its value? You may have a bargain :good:

Hi Col

Yes the underlever is flush with the shape of the stock so is hidden from the side, i think this is what makes them so nice looking :good:

The Airsporter stutzen were quite nice too...
