J@mes
Don't think it would cost much to get the rear windows tinted properly, below £150 I would have thought! neatest job you are going to get too IMO!
humperdingle
I've been looking into this myself... Search on Youtube, there are loads of instructional videos on there for applying it. I'm thinking i'll probably go and get it done professionally, though. The chances of the finish looking 2nd grade if I do it are very high Halfords sell the tint material in various degrees of darkness.

weejase
Just do It yourself I bought a roll of the film from the interweb and done my rear jimny window myself:good: I would advise you to use a hairdryer or heatgun for around the edges or you will get crease marks. jase. Gully
I just bought the film off ebay last week from a company called Luxicor. Its the cutting that is the difficult bit. These people sell them pre cut. The film went on great but there were two bits missing. I called them today about it. The missing bit is one half of the rear sliding windows on my defender 110. I argued for a while with the bloke who refused to believe the back windows were standard. Gave up in the end before I hurt something. He's sending me some plain film to do the missing windows. Good stuff, probably just a Land Rover thing.
sapper063
i believe it has to let 75% of light in or its an offence
ozzy518
i believe it has to let 75% of light in or its an offence For a legal window tint in the UK the specifications are: a) Motor Vehicles first used on or after 1 April 1985 The light transmitted through the windscreen must be at least 75%. c) The front side windows between the A and B pillars must allow at least 70% of light to be transmitted through them. MITCHF
I did my last 2 rear windows on my Disco, for the same reason. Went to my local Vinyl Signs shop, £15 to cover them both in Black vinyl Can't see naff all through it , but it's for a little added security and keeping the sun off my dogs , so it does the job. Looks good too.
