Took my easyhit of my shotgun sometime ago but now looking to try it again but it will no longer stick to the rib - tape no longer sticky

Any recommendations as to which double sided tape and where to get it or other method for refixing

If you can hang on until saturday, I have some double sided tape that is used for sticking **** to an Army blanket. I will bring it along. Or PM me your address and I will post you some.

Cheers

get some neodymium disc magnets and glue these to the easyhit. or try rare earth magnets, either are great and means you can put it on and off the gun anytime. better than glueing straight on the rib. :good:

i have 6mm diameter by 1mm thick.

Hiya Bigweed, I use different types of glowsights ( I make them myself.)

I allways use the latest red tube Evostik, It sticks really good, in fact

its allmost impossible to twist a sight off by hand, But its easily removed

with boiling water if you want to put it on another gun! :good:

Now that is useful! Red Tube Evostick? And once you take the sight off again you can remove the glue residue?

Mine was so successful on my 1100 I've refitted my old one on my 870 too, but atm I'm using silocone gasket which seems to be a bit flimsy, but leaves no mark at least ...

Yep mate, I use it all the time on mates guns who have had a freebee foresite from me. It can come unstuck with force

when the barrell is hot if twisting force is applied after shooting to get the barrell really hot! Dohh, but otherwise it stands up

to the heat applied! If not use one of the two tube araldite mixes ,and you wont have any more probs!

Magnets have arrived this morning - thanks for that tip beretta  Now what's the best way to remove the original easyhit, and any residual mounting adhesive/foam from the gun it's currently on?

So I can use it on my other one as well. (Not that I want to appear unduly tight fisted, or anything.)

PS Will I still be able to use steel shot?

Not of they are too powerful you won't, the shot will just stop at the muzzle :good: :good:

  • 2 weeks later...

Fishing line slipped under the bead and slid down the rib will lift off the Easyhit bead.

I can vouch for the Ruby sight just as effective and easy to fit. I like the idea of using the magnets.

I found it initially made me want to poke at the clays more rather than swing thru the target, but a few weeks of consciously making sure not to poke helped resolve that one.

Has anyone else encounter that problem?
