Was joined today by wingnut, stu and barney . We set up 3 hides on a big field of young sugar beat ,the weather was poor with some long periods of rain but there was a few about so we stuck it out .

Wingnut was getting the most shooting due to the amount of ferals his pattern was bringing in but all was seeing some action .

Final tally was 41 woodies 24 ferals and 4 blackies good day

I love ferals, but missed the pure white one (twice), and at one stage i had 4 birds in front of me coming into the pattern, dropped the 1st 2 on the right hand side, then had to reload fast and managed to take one out of the other pair on the left, also had a couple of really good snap shots from birds coming in low and fast from my left.

Tom managed one of the longest shots on a blackie that i have ever seen with a shotgun, he called it in by using his voice, we estimated it to be well over 70yds away, He hit it hard with his 20g 32gm no 6,it appeared to be knocked back by the impact of the shot, black feathers flew all over the place, , then its wings just folded and the bird did a long slow spiral to the deck.

ONE HELL OF A SHOT TOM!!!!

If I hadn't seen it for myself i would never have believed that it was possible.

Thanks for another memorable day.
