pigeon master
LB, I’ve not seen any footage of it myself but I’d struggle to believe it if they were our lads who are serving over there acting like that. They have to put up with a enemy that remains dressed in the same clothes as its innocent, so you can imagine how that must feel, to contemplate that the next Iraqi who walks close to you could blow you into next week. Major stress, but like I said, I’ve not seen it but you reckon its mercenaries? When is the world going to club together, and rather than walk into other countries with bombs and bullets, lets walk in together as a global servant and make all these places better environments to live for the people who live there. The world spends so much on arms, enough to spend billions of pounds in each country to rejuvenate it, including ours. You think I’ve been watching a moon landing programme, the thing is, our little planet looked so fragile it made me think…why all the fighting. The PM

These lads are doing £2000 a week and must be extremely bored. All they achieve is alienating the already abused locals. Saying that I have the utmost respect for anyone in uniform that manages to keep it together. I know I couldn't. LB

I understand where you are coming from but that does not give them the right to go killing indiscriminantly, that makes us no better than them. davhope
I have just seen the video in question and I am inclined to think that if I was in the same situation I would probably be reacting in the same way, You only have to be wrong once and hold your fire and its the last mistake you would make. . SNAKEBITE
The Americans in Vietnam, the Russians in Afgan' ....... The list is endless. They are fighting what is basically a war against invisible people who come and go. It is not all red tunics and men of honour now. The regulars have all my sympathy and support. The "VULTURES" who swoop and take advantage of the situation over there are a little further down on the list. For £750 a day you can see where they are coming from and if you are in debt in a big way then it might seem a good way forward, but at what cost? Not only to them but to their family.
