It's Rainin White Feathers
two guns out this morning, good conditions! dog fetched these 26 divers and 3 mallard, a gadwall and a teal. i think the count was 19 golden eye, (a few cracking drakes), 5 tufted and interestingly 2 scaup! M ROBSON
IRWF, some still refused to decoy though! What kind of decoy pattern do you use? We decoy the GE using just drake decoys and it pulls them off their main flightline and into the deeks no problems, they don't even feed in the area we shoot but they still come in. Even Mallard and Teal will decoy freely to this spread. Cheers, Mark.
Frank
What a great bag of ducks feathers. Plenty of eating their, mmmmmmm. Im a bit paronoid myself about wild duck at present, keep thinking about the bird flue . I think i should just get out their and bag a few. Mark, as allways, bang on photos mate. It's Rainin White Feathers
drakes can at times be difficult to decoy, pattern of some GE drakes more ducks, tufted and pochard coys too. Spread is large 60 decoys and decoys about 35 yards from the hide.
M ROBSON
IRWF, The idea of using drake only decoys came from the USA where they do some SERIOUS diver shooting, we were stunned at how effective it is. It's quite common across there. Mark.
Cranfield
It should be mentioned that Scaup are protected in England, Scotland and Wales, just in case someone gets the wrong idea. These Scaup were shot in Norther Ireland.
