shoughton
This one keeps catching my eye. Anybody on here tried one out yet? I actually like the fixed chokes - mine always stay at 1/4 and 1/2 anyway. Looks a good gun. Steve
Anni
My mates just bought one. From what I have heard they have been put together from Beretta's parts bin, theres a write up in this months sporting shooter It seems like a basic gun nothing to fancy, the sort of gun you could take for a knock on the clays and into the field without to much worry about damaging it. build quality seemed ok ish I have had a swing of it but not fired it yet, he loves it. I think he payed about £1100 £1200 don't hold me to that. 10 year beretta guarantee. For the money I would have prefered a nice older second hand Beretta of better build quality. But thats just me
retromlc
i've got a Beretta SP "S" 30" fixed chokes the same as universal,I haven't seen a universal, but apart from maybe more basic engraving I can't see the difference,I think it's important to remember that the only stated difference between this gun and a 687 eell is wood and engraving, the actual metal/components and construction are of the same standard,so sounds like good quality for your money if you want new. A couple of my mates have old (15 year old plus) beretta's that retailed shop price of about £750,nice clean guns,I think that they are a better feel and better finish than the cheaper new beretta's as the new one are less hand finished more CNC'd, i wait to be corrected
utectok
I have an 1995 686 essential which was the old basic 686 it's the same guts as a top of the range Sps I fix it with the same parts I added a classy stock and it's fantastic. I'd say the basic sp universal is steel proof is probaly great gun.
Dekers
I'm out of touch with this one, I'll have to look it up. I have a 686 Sporting Special from 1991 and everyone who touches it falls in love with it.....what else is there to say?!
