hi every one, just joined this site and thought id give my veiws on my maxus.great gun,put a few hundred rounds through it now.it doesnt like 21/2 shells, doesnt feed and jams.but 2 3/4 - 3 1/2 no probs.very low recoil, fits me perfect out the box and im l/handed.looks good strips down in seconds and doesnt need a lot of cleaning.ive had all the top auto,s and this gun tops them all for looks and performance,..if your looking for a new auto give one a try

Welcome mate :hmm:

I liked the look of the Maxus, but I found the pistol grip uncomfortable and the gun didnt fit me very well, even with the stock jacked right up :hmm:

Good luck with yours mate :hmm:

i agree with what your saying,if it dont fit you right, dont buy it,but mine fits me great and i cant fault it...apart from a few jams using 2 1/2 cartridges but 2 3/4-3 1/2 no probs :hmm:

did you look at the Beretta A400 before buying the Maxus?.I've tried them both but not at the same time if you know what I mean,i fancy the 26" barrels,30" must be real long gun especially in the hide?

if they did the a400 in composit i would of had alook,id be worried bout scratchin the wood.i always have my gun on a stand so its always upright not sat across my lap and you can load it upright with the speed loader, ive always prefered 30 inch autos seem to swing through better for me,but most people prefer a shorter barrel, what ever works for you

I'm considering one of these. Really like the look of the A400 also but like Rangey I'd be worried about damage in the hide.

I'll be waiting to try one out at the CLA before I buy though...even though my local shop has one and I'm out on the pigeons tomorrow! So tempting.....

hi,i would definatley try one out before buying anything else, ive had mine bout a month now and put a few rounds through it,about 500.and noprobs, the speed load is spot on in the confines of a hide,so much easier and quicker, fits and handles a treat.i know its early days yet,but so far its proving to be the best semi ive had.previously its been beretta or benelli, first browning ive owned.

I looked at buying a new semi auto today, my first one as only had experience of Over Under Shotguns. I looked at the AL391, AL400 and the latest Maxus plus a Benelli Comfort.

I found that neither of the Beretta's could fit me well (shame as my OU is a Beretta so would have been a nice match up) I found the Maxus a very nice gun, handled well and attractive but my shock was that it almost fitted out the box but the Benelli just felt right even though its synthetic - something I really hadn't gone for.

So all in I bought the Benelli Comfort 28in......but the Maxus was a very close call to it.

In my usual impatient way I have purchased a synthetic maxus today. Great fit with the shim raising the comb slightly.

Out on pigeons tomorrow so I'll loo forward to putting a few through it!

make sure you 2 3/4 shells not 2 1/2 as i had a few jams with these, shame really cos you can get 3 in the magazine
