2-dead-in-the-air
I have seen this dog fox on quite a few outings and he has been giving me the slip....... I hat to wait until the grass was cut, where I new the holes were with 4/5 cubs. parked the landy in middle of field at 11.30am sat watching the rabbits hopping about then at around 12.30pm all the rabbits were up with ears pricked.............. something about !! checked the hedge line nothing then in the corner of my eye seen movement at about 4 oclock.... fox walking towards me at about 100 yards, stopped and sat down. I manadged to slowly reposition my self with rifle sitting on open window and shot him as he was cleaning him self... as you can see hes very slim and had been slipping through the sheep fencing with ease. Frenchieboy
I always say that patience is a virtue and this is especially true where "vermin control" is concerned. I am always happy not to take an "iffy shot" particularly at a fox because I know that sooner or later he will make a mistake while I am ready and waiting for him! Good shooting mate, he will not be giving you the slip any more!
ollie
Good shooting. This is another fox that looks in very bad condition with Mange. I am wondering because of the very cold winter we had that foxes had to spend more time underground then usual and because of this there has been more Mange than in previous years.
