and there you have the dilema, a do it all bullet with no requirement to re zero or 3 different types, guess it depends what the heavy bullets do on foxy!

Looking good so far though you can't ask for more than that with a new rifle

CZ452...

On paper - that 75grn load "should" put me a tad over the legal required min of 1700 foot pounds.

Although, I'm not happy about shooting deer with a varmint bullet, and would look to load something a little less destructive, coupled with a bit more energy for the bigger beasts.

I guess it all depends on what that "jump" turns out to be....

The beauty of handloading, means I can play with the options (powder, bullet, velocity, etc) to try and minimize such jump.

I'll report back once I've spent some more time on the range testing

Well you have a decent scope so you know it will return to zero, you just need a note of the difference.

I have done this with 'range ammo' and expanding - and having re-zeroed for the day at the range, and then clicked back to the expanding settings the first shot is always spot on.

Forgot you didn't have the minimum bullet weight as a requirement!

Just need to do my research and work out what weight seems to be acceptable for a 243, for taking Fallow and Roe. (Looking to get a 308 for reds  )

Can recomend hornaday 95grn SST for deer (and fox for that matter ) load mine with 35grn of varget very accurate bullet indeed

Have you run it through a chrono Steve?

And is that not a varmint bullet?

I noticed it's designed for "rapid expansion and maximum energy transfer. "

Will chrono them tonight and let u know tomorrow , am also trying some 58 vmax 42 grn with of varget

Great thanks - what gun are you using, and with what twist rate?

the bullets react very much like an interlock core bullet with controled expansion, but do look like a v max i have a sako 1;12 twist rate which is prob a bit slower than yours ? loads of info on the bullets on th e horaday web site

That's interesting 1 in 12 - on a 243 ? :drinks:

Is that a custom barrel?

Steve, thanks.

I take it - that's in feet per/sec ?

Accoring to my calculations - that load is under the 1700 ft/lbs limit for deer ?

It comes in at 1588 ft/lbs.

I'm really looking for something beyond 1700 fb/lbs
