Ozzy Fudd
In that case, my aim is for somebody, somewhere to nail Megan Fox  she got married the other day so im sure its happening btw have many people seen the 2 and a half men episode with her in it?? my aims are simple(ish) - get plenty more practice in with the hmr, eliminate all the nagging doubts i have about the gun not holding accuracy, learn to read the wind better and how it affects the rounds and go out and learn all the holdover/under i need (or dont need). finally i still want to smack a coke can at 300 yards with it

Poor lad, if you only knew He used to spend all the housekeeping on shooting and booze. You were barefoot until your 14th birthday, then he bought you a second hand pair of flip-flops out of his Catton Hall winnings

Paddy Galore!
No chance I went out and bought another one this morning ( that's the 3rd) And guess what? yep, went over the neighbours and crash landed on their patio!! I need more superglue... So that's one with a knackered frame, another with a broken rotor linkage, and now this one with some dodgy under carriage. Do you guys think it's about time i gave up? JonD
I don't know the size of the heli you have. Put a training undercarriage on it first off which shold stop you mincing the blades and head gear, main shaft, feathering spindle, fly bar etc. Then practice tail in hovering, when you no longer follow it half a mile across a field and can gently fly it backwards back to the take off point you are getting there. Once you can safely return to the hover you are ready to progress as you can get back into the comfort zone by coming back tail in. Get some of the spacers out of a pizza box at this point and stick one in the ground in front of you then one 10m either side (they don't fly up) then gently practice getting to them gradually but keep the tail dead straight to you so you start to see side in, if you have a moment go back to tail in. and practice a little bit either side, maybe a metre, then back to the landing spot in front of you, then a metre the other side then go a little further. The most important thing is to minimise the about of stick input you give in flight, if you issue to much cyclic and think it's done nothing it can get messy if you issue more. Just start out easy Jon.

Hi jon, not a very complicated heli, the first just went up and around, got caught by the wind and went about 100yds, lovely banking turn courtesy of a mild breeze, and then nose dived from about 30ft the second is only about 10" long but has a 4 channel box which is lots of fun but as you say, gets very messy quickly. the third is a tiny little 3 channel indoor heli that i thought would be good fun to try outside as it's not windy, only problem is the effective range of the controller is about 10ft, which is why i lost it over the neighbours I've got the bug now so i'm saving for a biggun, a really nice chap in kellers model shop has offered to trim it, tone it down a bit, and give a few free lessons which is handy as i deffo need 'em i'm off to the shop tomorrow to pick some bits up, thanks for the advice
JonD
No problem, I would recommend a Thunder Tiger Raptor 30 or 50, the ideal being the 50 as it's a bit heavier and stable although 90% of the parts are the same and far cheaper than Hirobo but a slightly greater start up cost for the 50. I have a Raptor 30, Raptor 50 and a Hirobo Sceadu 50 which are all well modded and 2 worn out Hirobo Shuttles. It's great that they will trim it for you and give you some lessons as they are not easy to fly and are as lethal as a gun potentially, they should set it up to be very docile. Enjoy! Jon.
