BASC payments

Well, I was going to join BASC online. As I don't use credit cards and will not use a debit card on line I wanted to pay by paypal (got a surplus in there anyway). Emailed them and was told, quite curtly, card only. :hmm: That's another one they've lost as I will find something else now that gives insurance cover but doesn't charge quite as much for the privelige.

Ahh well, I tried. :good:

I would be worried if they DID take paypal. Theres nothing that says 'Mickey Mouse' like a Paypal Payment.

The place I work for, one of the countries leading suppliers of our trade, do quite a lot of deals through paypal. !

So you'll lodge card details with paypal but not with basc??

No,I don't have a card so I gave paypal bank details ONCE online and that's probably the only time I've sent details via the web. :good:

The beauty of paypal is that nothing secure is sent online for a transaction so no matter how many times you buy the info is only given once.

Also, paypal is vast now and will continue to grow so why the gripe with them, at least it's one financial institution that hasn't brought the country to it's knees :hmm:

I can't begin to wonder what leading company you work for but paypal is truly pants as a provider, chargebacks are too easy and the amount of fraud is frankly scary, get your details hacked and you will loose any balance in your pay pal account and it certainly isn't rare

If you're scared of online transactions get a barclaycard and you will be covered for fraud and then use your common sense. I wouldn't imagine any of the insurance providers will take paypal. Maybe David will confirm whether you can pay by cash sent to BASC towers though it is a little odd you won't do card or DD payments. Even cheques you send have you bank details on so no idea how you manage to cope in life.

I got done during a transaction using paypal on a well know bidding site, once you give them your details they seem to take charge of your account and any money that you have in that account.would rather play with a cobra than trust paypal.any problems and who do you talk to? if you have a problem with your bank, you go to your branch and you can sort any problems out--try that with paypal---appauling!!!!!!!

What is your strategy if none accept PayPal?

C'mon, I'm a bloke,I hadn't thought that far in front. :hmm:

I can't see why they don't offer the service, even if they charge for the extra costs involved. The reason I like paypal is that I tend to do a few jobs / transactions on the dreaded auction site and usually have a surplus in paypal for toys etc. ;) It's my stash that no-one knows about. :good:

I use my cards all the time on the itnernet, and never had a problem. Most people will find and if fact companies will, that its peoples stupid mistakes or stupidity on the net that leads to fraud ;)

Usually through bent websites or something too good to be true, you will find that internet money transfer through your bank security pins ect is very secure :good: , and that the problem is your end, perhaps in a keylogger or trojan ect..

I dotn see any problem in internet transfer, probably just a fear you have, but its very safe.
