arjimlad
I thought some pictures of this gun might be of interest. It is basically a cap gun - fires "plug fire caps" in brass cases - the power of the cap works a little piston in the case which cycles the action. It has semi & full auto settings. If you keep it mega clean & oiled it works. It was a gift from a friend who knew I liked guns.

jpbeaver
thats really cool. i did a job for a 70 year old woman a few months back, she showed me her fathers "old cap gun" that he used as a starting pistol for the local school fair. It was a deactivated .22 pocket pistol, i'll try and get a picture of it.

arjimlad
It is rather good when it spits out the used brass ! I believe that the real thing is rather accurate, especially with the shoulder stock fitted, but that range guide has to be nuts. Still, it's a nice weight and feels rather good in the hand. stu nesling
bet the originals had some kick.....were they not 7.62mm?

Blunderbuss
bet the originals had some kick.....were they not 7.62mm? 7.63mm Mauser which is a small bottle necked cartridge which shoots a light bullet at quite a high velocity, but has fairly light recoil. Also made in 9mm para and I think a few were made in some other odd calibres as well. Edited July 23, 2010 by Blunderbuss
Zapp
7.62 or 7.63 is just the diameter of the bullet, not the dimensions of the case and therefore the potential propellant load. As MM said, the 7.63 in question was a pistol cartridge. The sights, which are pretty optimistic, were geared toward the use of the wooden holster-***-stock, which turned it into a carbine essentially. Anyway, geekery aside, that is an exceptionally cool toy
