Raja Clavata
That's a long way to go to shoot "pigeons". There's so many other places to go and things to do in this world - that would be pretty low down for me in priorities. sorry. Heladoxa
I watched the video and they keep using the word 'hunting'. It's about as close to hunting as shooting pigeons in Trafalgar Square, or buying a beef burger at McDonalds. Kdubya said it would cost about 5 Grand to go., and Soreshoulder said he would like to go when he has saved a 'bit' of money. It would cost a lot more than that. They quote 20,000,000 birds, so with cartridges at about £150 for 1,000, the ammunition alone would cost £3 million pounds! ... and that's much too rich for me. Chard
A mate of mine went on one of these trips to Cordoba. He had a great time. He showed me a DVD that they give you at the end of the trip. I had mixed feelings after watching the DVD. I reckon I'd really enjoy a couple of days of that, but then it would wear a bit thin. They have a "boy" constantly handing you a loaded shotgun, so you just stand there like Lord Headley-Smedley-Smythe, banging off at a never-ending stream of these doves. All day, every day After a couple of days of that, I think I'd ask the organisers if they had a clay shooting club locally By the end of the DVD, I was more enthusiastic about the BBQ food they dished up out in the open air after a mornings shooting. The fillet steak looked a bit special, I was getting hungry watching it It wouldn't do for a veggie
Highlander
Yeah great if you like slaughtering hundreds of birds...just what hunting isn't about! I can never understand why someone who just likes to pull the trigger doesn't stick to clay busting, why take it our on creatures!

Yeah I can see your point, the add reads different some of the others I have seen I would rather go and wait for passing birds as opposed to ( not sure its not just advertising blurb) semi contained and fed birds, I would like to go and think I will do it, its a place I would otherwise never see,and I would much rather have ago at a fairly sustainable quarry than pay up to £20 grand to shoot say an elephant or a fenced lion. Pastiebap
The RFD that I always use went to Argentina a few years ago, he said whilst it was a great trip, was alot of money. Apparently the background behind this is that there are that many Doves, they are destroying crops completely. When he asked what happens to the doves that are killed, he was informed that (allegedly) they are collected and given to local orphanages and homeless. Dont be so intense about things, it was just something i wanted to show people. The birds are not wasted they go to the poor and homeless. Get off your high horse and stop sounding so silly and righteous1
