JonD
Hi all, I'm looking for a replacment choke for my Berettal AL391 as I have damaged one in a cleaning incident Briley seem to be the best aftermarket from the reviews that I have seen. Are any of you using Briley chokes and what do you think of them. So far as i'm aware Chris Potter is the UK supplier\distributor, Midway UK list them but silly expensive. Cheers, Jon. VicW
Hi Jon, I use Briley chokes or more correctly choke, in my 303, a 3/8 flush. They are extremely well made and accurately machined. My suggestion is that you stick to normal extended chokes, you don't need to pay extra for the ported Spectrum. The porting does nothing in my opinion and is a pain to clean. Chris Potter is the UK importer and is an excellent gunshop as is their service. Usually if you order in the morning the choke arrives the next day, recorded delivery. Vic. Cheers Vic, Called them and ordered one but not in stock so looking at 3 weeks mind you can't expect them to stock every variant. Just happy it was the 1\4 that got damaged and not the skeet. Can hopefully borrow a 1\4 for a regd in 10 days or so. Jon.
chezza1986
I got a 1/4 and 3/4 for my urika 2. Extended yes but extended and ported are a bit of a waste of money. Wish i just got the extended as like said before they are a pain to clean and i don't feel they offer any noticeable advantages over the extended chokes. Extra coin too. poorpeet
Try PHSQ Europe That's where I ordered my Briley DS chokes.
coyotemaster
Briley makes a good tube, I would have avoided the ported, but not for any of the above reasons. I think they are just too loud!! A ported shotgun is hard on the ears of dogs and other shooters--not to mention yourself.
figgy
I would have gone with Muller chokes instead. Figgy
RobC1990
I just went for the looks haha I already have some normal briley spectrum just hope my fellow shooters have good ear protection then is it a lot louder?
Mangled99
Try PHSQ Europe That's where I ordered my Briley DS chokes. Be careful with PHSQ, I ordered some bits from them thinking they came from Europe with the 7 - 21 day delivery option and after about 2 months I finally got my money back from PayPal as I hadn't received anything. The stuff finally arrived about 2 weeks later with custom charges from America, I got in touch with PHSQ and told them I would pay for the bits minus the custom charges rather than send them back. I wouldn't use them again and have now bought Muller chokes, I seem to be shooting better than ever but it might not be the chokes.
Mangled99
Just realised that this is a really old post
poorpeet
Customs charges! Nothing about that on the site! I paid in Euros and it's called PSHQ EUROPE so there may be a dispute raised if additional charges appear.
