silver pigeon 3
Hi fellow PW members What do you guys think to my homemade magnet? I used a Ford escort wiper motor from a scrap car (free), some metal from work for the base and ground spikes (free), the arms are made from 6mm aluminium rod (£15) and a battrey from another scrap car (again free) This was all painted with Nato green and mid camo brown matt aerosol spray left over from painting a hide seat. So all in minus the air pro decoys and magtame spped controller was very cheap. all thats left now is to try it out later this week, fingers crossed Edited August 24, 2010 by silver pigeon

The Essex Hunter
Nice to see some one having a go Glad you kept it low, as the base helps to act against any strong wind gust.......... TEH

humperdingle
Very neat, that... Bit of foliage over the plate and it'd blend in nicely. Top job
Punt Gun
Is that a speed controller in line with the battery or just a on/off switch? Very neat, that... Bit of foliage over the plate and it'd blend in nicely. Top job
hodge911
Is that a speed controller in line with the battery or just a on/off switch? looks the same as mine if it is its a speed control
silver pigeon 3
Yes mate its a speed controller, without it it looked more like a helicopter than a pigeon magnet On the plus side with it travelling that fast you wouldnt need to shoot them just let them get tangled in the magnet arms

killer rabbit (r1000)
nice job on that one. gonna have a go at making one myself as i've just picked up on more permissions, i think i've got all the gear i need - just need to find a decent speed controler (could use an old cordless drill & rip it apart?) shoughton
I'm about to get going on one of these too. The rotating connection on the wiper motor I have has splines so I was looking to utilise the existing bar and either weld or bolt onto this - but have you managed to bolt onto the spindle OK without using the splines?
