stalking oppotunity

Recommended Posts

Good luck guys.

£140 for a day out and a deer in the bag aint to expensive.

Makes me laugh all this talk of "canned" hunts, one of my farms is 650 acres, it has fallow, Munty & CWD on it.

It has loads of varied terrain.

If someone came along tomorrow and put a fence round it, would that make it "canned" and ruin it?

I also shoot a 1000 acre deer park for a friend, That's bigger than a lot of peoples permission, can that be classed as "canned"?

Okay maybe a bit harsh to say canned, canned to me is shooting a known deer in a small enclosure.

The two scenario's you describe are both behind wire and therefore not free ranging, they maybe still very difficult to get on terms with but ultimately they cannot get away.

I am a bit late coming into this thread but i just want to add my piece, as a disabled shooter with walking difficulties this kind of offer is probably the only chance myself and others like me would ever get to shoot a deer, a full hill stalk is completely out of the question and high seats a no no.

Great offer spud and although its too rich for my pocket at the moment when i do have the money this is exactly the kind of offer i would be looking for, well done

Ian thank you,

But you always find the odd one that jumps in with both feet and never thinks of others!!

But that is the sad part of this sport know it all's (or so they think)

Well for anyone thats considering this I would highly recommend it.

I just got back from my day there, and it was exactly what I wanted. I previously had no deer shooting experience, and today I learnt a lot, I dont think it would be possible to learn anymore in a single day. I cant think of a better way to start out and build confidence in deer techniques.

And no, they dont just walk out when asked nicely :good:

Thanks James,

Glad you had what you wanted from the day... see you again soon no doubt and thanks for putting Ross forward for the stalking.

Pic's will follow on Monday

Thanks again,

Alex

well, say what you like, but there was no rattling of feed buckets or anything of the sort.

I still stand by what I said about this being a great way to learn.

and the difference is that you have been and seen the shooting first hand and written about it, which is more than can be said for some of the people who have but half baked comments on here. Glad you enjoyed it and welcome to the world of stalking.

You don't have to ask them, just rattle a feed bucket and they will come running.

I have been stalking with Alex & Andy on the same park. although i have my own wild stalking i have to say this was a fantastic day out. its not as easy as you think, this park is over 50% woodland and well set up and well run. no feed buckets needed mate so i sugest you stick to walking your dog or comment after you have tried it.

lads give this a try you wont be disapointed.
