Been today ---- It's getting same old same old every year in by 9.30 out by 2.00

More on traffic - coming down A41 from Chester just small queue at Island on A5 - most were waiting for queue to move towards entrance to Weston Park - I went straight over Island towards M54 and there was a queue at least 3/4 mile long and stopped waiting to turn at the island- so if anyone who is going can get onto A41 south or get onto M54 to junc 3 then follow signs for shooting you will have an easier run - if you are there by 9.00 ish you will probably get parked right in front of shooting and it's only 100 yrds to fair - after 9.0 you might be on next field back but going there this morning there wasn't another car on back road and I was straight in - If anyone want's to go later I would think by 12.00-1.00 you will have a straight run in whatever direction you are coming from - the main entrance when I left was clear.

Bring your own or buy them onsite - not sure if it's plastic or fibre - never used to be fibre

Went today had a nice day (Fibre only BTW) shot like a muppet but it was raining, the 2 things i really wanted to see gun wise, LH Blaser F3 and new Franchi SA werent there, GMK had no Franchi at all on the stand! missus bought more than i did! £17 seems a bit steep for what was 90% Trade stands no real obvious bargains I could see, met a nice chap in the beer tent area but dont think i will go again, perhaps try the CLA next year, http://www.welshgamefair.com/ is a better fair IMO. The have a go at clays stand was very busy all day which is a good thing.

The cartridge prices were most disappointing, Clay shooting R us and Just carts were there but no cheaper than my local dealer and a much longer walk to the car...

The Midland has been going that way now for a number of years - all same (boot fair) stands with a few speciallist stands to break it up -- if you are into falconry and dogs then there is something to see- other than that it's a like a big market -- My mate bought a very nice new Hatstand (Hatsan) for just over 300 quid so he had a bargain so he said. -- I have to applaud GMK who did a repair onsite to my gun in 10 min but yet to try it so Thank you to them.

If you had bought your tickets in advance at £13.60 it would have felt like a cheaper day - As you say you can more than likely get your cartridges much cheaper elsewhere - remember they have to pay for floor space and I bet it doesn't come cheap.

Why do people go to a game fair dressed from head to foot in realtree cammo? It was like walking about in a mobile shrubbery.

No Idea but saw a few shooting clays today in all Camo, like they would scare the clays if they wore anything normal!!! May be its a midland thing....
