lurcherboy
I recently purchased a transmission unit from a local oultlet. On fitting it, it was obvious the unit was not as described (reconditioned/exchange/guranteed) so I took the complaint up with the supplier. Supplier wouldn't entertain any thought of recompense and/or replacement. Fine, I thought, I made the purchase with a Lloyds TSB VISA card so I am protected. Wrong! It turns out that after a few weeks of correspondence to and from their disputes department, I am going to lose £375-00 because of, what for it, I collected the unit from their premises!!!!! Hope none of you get caught out with this loophole that apparently is in the small print somewhere. Moving accounts on tuesday to a different bank. marlin.45
So Lurch was the card a credit or a debit card? As I didn't think any debit cards had any form of buyer protection? How else did they think you would buy a transmission? Mail order?

apbuild
Wouldn't touch Lloyds TSB with a bargepole. One of their employees at their cheque filing section doctored one of my business cheques in 2003 and tried to attain £1,760 from my business account and recently they took £1200 from my account when the Direct Debit had been cancelled for a long time. *****rs. Bought a recon S3 box from Paddocks for the IIa But for most people...................................... B) But Lurch was it a Visa debit or Visa credit ? They both run through the same 'clearing' but the same protection does not apply. Edited January 15, 2006 by marlin.
