Packing a baikal hushpower silencer

I only ask as I just stripped mine to clean it. (they get proper caked!) there is no packing in mine at all. Just holes in the barrel, escaping gases into tube then a milled 'flash eliminator' baffle at far end. I would have thought that a bit of packing with carbon or similar would increase the moderator effect? (only really noticeable with subs.) is glass mat heat resistant? Cheap?

My dad is using my mossy hushpower, so I'm having some fun with this baikal! Good little bunny gun, even taken some fast birds with it! I know they aren't supposed to be packed but I was looking to increase the moderator effect by packing it with carbon or similar and just wondered if anyone had done it? If not, I'll experiment with a few different things and post the results. I don't have a db meter but I could try video it?
