Hi all,

Just booked my very first goose shooting trip at the start of December.

I have an over and under with a 2 3/4" chamber and am looking for suggestions of what cartridges I should buy for my trip.

We will be shooting over fields not wetland if that makes a difference.

Thanks

From memory I have used 32grm 4s steel - my gun isn't steel proof so less than 1/2 choke.

Fields doesn't make a difference has to be non toxic because of what you are shooting.

Edit: Not sure if you location changes that last bit on non toxic shot.

If i were you i'd take at least a 3" magnum. That way you will have a lot more options with your load sizes. You could then use a 36 gm bb or 1 shot in steel, or go for some tungsten or wingmaster 1 1/2 oz loads.

Oh yeah, you're inland so you can use some 1 1/2 oz loads in lead!
