hogey
Hi Sent my renewal papers away a week ago and received a letter today asking me for a new permission letter. Is it usual to have to supply a new permission letter on a renewal application. I do not see aproblem getting one but abroad at the minute and it just slows up my application. Good job its not due for renewal until January.

markbivvy
If nothing else has changed, then you dont need new written permission.
David BASC
Are they simply checking you still have land to shoot over?

Dougy
Not long been off the phone to staffs and asked a couple of questions, I was told not to forget to give details of land that i have permission to use the calibres i have. So the answer as far as Staffs is a "Yes you do " but then again as most of us know it may be different next week
EMcC
I think the reason is to ensure the permission letter is up to date and that you haven't fallen out with the land owner and are just hanging on to your guns in case you get the chance to shoot elsewhere. njc110381
Reading through this makes me think of a very important point - Never keep all your eggs in one basket! Every little shoot, no matter how small and how few quarry are on it, could save your FAC one day! I always try to keep at least five under my belt and I'll search hard for more if I lose one. In some ways renewal could be as scary as the initial grant - there's certainly a lot more to lose if you can't justify what you have in the cabinet! hogey
Yes I guess they could be checking to see I have land to shoot over. I have letter from my first application but guess they want an up to date one. The tennant farmers Son runs the farm now so I hope he is agreeable.I always ask him if its ok to shoot every time i go and he always says yes but putting it down in writting maybe another story. I will write it out myself and all he has to do is sign it. I always bring him a carton of ciggies everytime I come home from abroad so will have them in one hand and letter in the other Northumbria Police are quick of the mark to start the proccess,I only sent the papers in 8 days ago
