Just completed a spot of knifemaking

Started with the basic kit that came with a block of curly birch and a bit of antler. Added to that were some bits of leather and some boxwood spacers.

Then it was just a case of chipping, sanding, and filing until the right shape.

Once sanded and given a rub down with fine wire wool a coating of linseed oil was added.

Cheers for all the positive feedback lads :look:

I got this kit here (sorry mods if you arent allowed to post external sites, please remove if so!) http://www.heinnie.com/Knives/Karesuando-K.../p-92-301-4990/

This is the best price I have found and it comes with free postage. Karesuando make a few kits from carbon to stainless blades.

Its worth giving it a try! Its not as hard as it looks!
