goldeneye243
I have been shooting for a year or so and I am considering getting a 20 gauge, mainly for game shooting and taking as a lighter gun if I want to take anyone clay pigeon shooting who cannot easily take the weight of a 12gauge. I was wondering what people would recommend? I am thinking probably on O/U rather than a SXS, not considering a semi-auto as I have a 12G one. The current front runner is the Yildiz At the moment I am shooting a Miroku MK70 and get on well with it, so may also consider another Miroku... Shropshire_Lad
Hi, not a make I have ever looked at before but we got a Bettinsoli 20 mk111 at the midland for a good price as it had a few rack marks in the stock, only in the finish. It has an adjustable stock, up/down and left/right, great as I'm a lefty and the girls are all right hand. We took it for a blast at Doveridge yesterday and we all got on great with it, don't know if I'll use a twelve again. Not in the same class as a miroku, tight to open and shut but there is something about it that is great fun to shoot! atvb Paul.
GP1
I would go for a S/Hand silver pigeon, hold their price well and a great gun for not too much money.

COACH
Silver pigeon But a totally different beast to a MK70 If the MK70 fits you properly having such a low combe, then the Silver Pigeon probably won`t. The combe on Silver Pigeon will be far to high for you, but will fit most other people. Might want to try a MK70 / 20 gauge if you want to use it as well. goldeneye243
Thanks for the input. I am still a little torn between the yildiz, or the miroku at almost twice as much (does anyone know if the miroku MK60 20 gauge is the same fit as a 12G MK70?) I am also wondering if I need a 20g at all!
Sauer
i got one on a whim ..years ago never regretted it...yeah the carts are more expensive ! grrrrrr but i dont fire mine every day of the week so that ok for me love it...should have had one years ago... will do anything i ask of it that i ask of a 12g.....apart from maybe geese....but i have a semi auto for that. use it on ferreting light quick fleet gun to work use it for long walks round permissions...fine n light for carrying all day use it for clays...espicially when folks there that say 20g cant keep up with a 12g at clays ...see their face when you start dusting em!!!! ( if you can shoot that is!! hehehe ) i didnt "need " one either but wouldnt part with it sauer

barisaxman
I bought a Medalist about 6 years ago for the missus to use, but I've used it myself more than her. Great little gun especially for walking round the headrows. I've shot bunnies, pigeons and quite a few pheasant with it. The missus has smoked quite a few clays with it too! Do anything my 12 bore does and so much lighter. Mines a fixed choke half and 3 quarter. If I ever come into money, I would love a good grade Beretta 20.... wouldn't we all??? goldeneye243
Thanks for all the input. I went last night and had a look at the yildiz and the Miroku. I liked both and the yildiz actually had a nicer looking stock. In the end though I got the Miroku MK60 as it should last forever. Looking forward to shooting it now!
