It was in and out in about twenty minutes. The main dealer doesnt do much more and charges me £250.

Hucky
National do some good deals, I have been getting 2 for 1 Avon tyres on our 106 for the last 100k miles - unfortunately since the econimic crash the deal has stopped - perhaps things are on the up again ? just got to look for the enticers and work through the 'tyres are wearing thin / shockers are knacked' patter when they get the car on the ramp  , but to be fair my branch are spot on and don't try to hard sell

Lord Geordie
I have had a few issues with National in the past. They stripped the sump plug threads on one occasion I watched them re assemble my car after fitting new shocks and springs to the front and never used a torqe wrench. They also damaged my new wishbones and ball joint boots and hadn't fitted the springs correctly. The car was a botched dangerous job I had to contact their head office to get it sorted out propperly. I have had a tyre put on the rim back to front. and most recently they fitted a new wheel bearing and damaged the bearing carrier and got oil all over the seats too

bruno22rf
Next time check if you have a Quick-fit or Formula 1 nearby cos both have a price promise that means they would beat National,s price -i normally pay £25 for oil and filter on my 3.5 Shogun and ,same as you gloker-i cant buy the oil for that. My local garage recently charged me £13 for oil, the main dealer had previously charged £45. I did query whether it was the correct oil, explaining the price difference. I was assured that they had used the correct spec and offered to charge me £45 if I wished!

Dave dexelia oil is made for rx8 rotary engines...due to them being oil burners.....its something to do with it being hydrocracked something to do with making the oil particles smaller and the same size. thats why its expensive. al4x
so do any of you boys who just change the oil, grease your trucks, check the brakes and all the usual things that get done during a proper service?
