British Sporting at Hodnet and the All-Rounders at Doveridge :good: Unfortunately, the EO sporting and BO sportrap have gone to that foggy hillside in Dorset. :good:

Nottingham and Bisley for the EO and BO skeet, England selections at Northampton and Dartford

Good to see they have spread them across the UK this year.

Now if you just look above that fold in the map............................

Sounds like you've got your map upside down :good:

I wouldn't be at all surprised if some date/venues changed over the coming months as this is still very much a draft calendar for 2011.

Glad to see Hodnet getting another prestigious shoot though :good:

I too would like to see more up North, but unless the grounds put in for them then we won't get them. :good:

Nicky's right, it will almost certainly change before the season starts, but I'm not holding my breath for any shoots moving up this way. It's depressing that the nearest for me is the EO skeet - 110 miles away, but at least it isn't at Southern Counties.

Does anyone know when the final ratification takes place and the calendar confirmed?

I must admit that there is very little up north from a skeet perspective and from what i have seen not much in the other disciplines.

Nottingham is the furthest for me at 130 miles that i plan to shoot, shorter than foggy counties but far better access. The BO at NCSC makes me happy as it's my home ground

Morton is by far the furthest 400 miles but don't plan to shoot it as will most likely be in San Antonio for the NSSA Skeet Worlds and that's a LOT further lol.

The calendar should be more or less final by January next year.

They don't usually make many changes once they "go public" and publish this calendar.

The odd Selection shoot date may change, but you can safely say the dates of the Majors are now fixed.

It's odd to see they're splitting the BO Sportrap off from the BO Sporting, another "own goal" by the CPSA, who the hell's gonna go all the way down to that windswept fogged out hillside just to shoot a 100 bird Sportrap..?? :good: I reckon they'll scrape up 150 entries perhaps.

Jon,

Morton is the Home International, it's a team event, it's not open to casual shooters, you have to be selected via the selection process, all you've got to do is to keep banging in those 100 straights week after week after week and you'll get noticed soon enough, it's that simple really.

You'll then be in a quandry, to shoot for your Country or to go to Texas..?? :good:

Yes it'll certainly be cold, wet and windy in bonny Scotland on the day, but I'd have to say the only time I've ever shot in San Antonio, (late May 1992, Beretta World Champs), we had the mother of all storms, it lasted for 2 days, the place was flooded, and cold at about 8 degrees, I've never seen a storm like it, the Jocks don't have a monopoly on bad weather. ;)

Yes, Grimsthorpe is a nice ground, pretty flat, not unlike Worsley but much better run, wooded setting, reputation for tough targets, the stands are usually well spaced out so there's plenty of walking.

They had a bust up with the CPSA some years ago, another clash of big ego's, the toys went out of the pram and they stopped running regular Registered shoots for probably getting on for 10 years, good to see them back in the fold.

The first Selection Shoot is always very well attended, particularly at a good ground like this one, be prepared for big queues on some stands..!!

Plenty of changes since it first came out. BO Sportrap now at Doveridge :good: and the EO Skeet now at Southern Counties

Mmmm, how many more times will it change we wonder.

After the BO ESK there this year not sure i'll be heading back any time soon.

It'll almost certainly change a little. I certainly won't be going to Southern Counties. I was looking forward to shooting it at Nottingham too - it would be nice to have a shoot within 2 hours drive!

Nice one Nicky! :good:

Can Bywell get the NOE Skeet Championship please? I like shooting skeet there. Cheers :D

Will Blackpool and Worsley be provisionally included at this stage? :hmm:

Bywell are likely to be in the running for a NOE Skeet selection shoot whilst Blackpool and Worsley are also provisionally included at this stage too.
