Norrie
Hiya, Just a few mins ago, on the spur of the moment, I bought a new pair of the above boots...I know!! I know!!!!! I should have asked here first...but I need new boots, and wanted a good pair......the only research I did was about the price!!!! Mine were just over £100, seemingly VERY cheap....anyway, any info from owners about them would be great, either good or not......:)They might end up back where they came from... WGD
Yours are half the price of anything that would class as competition, but they have recently (last 2 - 3 years) developed a reputation for falling to bits. Hope yours are ok. Edited November 13, 2010 by WGD
Norrie
Hiya,..Gawd, now really I dont know what to do...I got them on Fleabay...from a chap that had them and a pair of Chameau welly type boots for sale...had some contact with him about them...he deals in them.... no reason to disbelieve him..:I'll give them a try, see how they go.. Today, when out on a driven fox shoot...I asked a few of the guys about them, and one of the guys actually had a pair on, we had walked all over the moors, probs 7-8 miles, in some dreadful conditions, he had his Mouflons ( about a year old) on along with Chameau gaitors ( 6 years old),and leggings ( new), and his feet were bone dry...so ,hopefully, they'll do the job... I'll certainly report back to you.. Am I allowed to stick the Ebay link up for them..or even the number....the sales have ended now..so...Just to let you guys see what I bought... southdowns_stalking
I have had a pair of these for the last 6-7years. I can say these are the best boots i have ever had, they are on the way out now and i will be getting another pair. The £185 they cost me is well worth it, £30 per year!! These are used 2-4 times a week, walking anything upto 15 miles so have had a good working life. 10/10 from me Edit: Can you please PM me the link for the seller. Thanks Edited November 14, 2010 by Roonstar
BADFEET
Just my experience, but if you are out a lot then its got to be Miendl. I have had Mouflons, Dovre & I also have a pair of Lowas. The Mouflon fell to bits after 12 months, the Miendl beat them hands down....over 2 years now and still going strong. The Lowa is also a very good boot.
southdowns_stalking
The Lowa is also a very good boot. Very true, not sure what model of lowa's you have, but i also have a pair of these but not great for wet ground and the material section on the heal wears out after about 100 miles if you have trousers/waterproofs over the top. The ones i have are designed for the forces, you can run miles in them as they are so light and give great support but are not the best for shooting. Everyone has thier likes and dislikes

paddywack12
I have had a pair of mouflons for the past 4 years and never had a problem with them nice and comfy and always dry feet. I have seen a lot of bad press on other forums about them but I take as I find and cant fault them.

Everyone has thier likes and dislikes I have a pair of Lowas (I think GTX) not military boots. The first problem was the rubber surround on the leather separated and every so often let water in. Very odd, fine in standing water but could not cope with heavy due !!!!!. Then after about 3 years the leather itself has split. Am having a pair of Meindls for Christmas. I gather that you can send them back to Germany and they will re-sole and replace the inside material for £40. Or so the shop said.
Tom&Dexter
Fancy a pair of Lowa Hunter GTX myself anyone got experience of them had lower boots before and cant fault them
Moors Man
Just checked over night my Lowa's are GTX as below http://www.lowa.co.uk/product_detail/02___Trekking___Walking_Boots_/Stirling_GTX_Mens___Ws/62/
Dirty Harry
I have 2 pairs of Lowa mountain Gtx and they are very good. First pair I had resoled twice but then they started to leak so got a new pair. They only leak as the bloke who resoled them did a poor job. The actual boot is still very good and fine for summer use. I have a pair of Meindl Burma pro GTX and after 2 years they are leaking. They have split between the sole and rand. Just got some Le Chameau mouflon gtx so will see how i get on with these. Harry
Blunderbust
I have also had a pair of Le Chameau mouflon boots for at least 5 years and they are still going strong. Admittedly they have not had a mega hard life but have been used fairly regular and in some right bad weather.

Whatever boots you have stick a pair of Berghaus yeti gaiters over them. They are a fantastic piece of kit and as well as protecting your boots make walking much easier when worn with breeks.I've worn them for the past 15 years and a pair even with hard usage should last 5 years.
