sako751sg
The old fella has asked me to order one of these for him.Can anyone recommend any IR for it and anything else needed for it.
Dave-G
Dunno if it will be of use to you but a search for N550 on the NV section of the BBS will yield a bucket load of results.
Billy.
I had one on my wishlist for a while. Although I'd rather get the next version, which was due out in the summer. It's supposedly got an SD card slot so you can record your shooting and upload it straight off the card. Plus I'm sure it'll come with a tweak or two to the optics/sensor. GP1
You want the N1000 IR Laser about £120 or you can get it with the adjustable power for £145 Clive Ward at nvscope.com

wymberley
Hi, I am led to believe that the SD card slot is the only "improvement" to the current model. The optional extra (may be an "offer") IR lamp (940) is worth the money. However and although I haven't had chance to look into it yet (sick as a parrot with shingles), on the 550 as standard is a small weaver mount (the 940 is so mounted). Clulite do a IR filter for £28 (same price for all) for their lamps. I'm going to see if I can modify the mount on the dinky one (can't think of model name) that I have to take a weaver. Oppo has tested the filter and it works a treat. Two points: This sight is different and does take a little getting used to; unless the day is somewhat dull, do not try to zero on a white target. Cheers Edit: "Dinky One" = Mini Lazer GL10 series Edited December 6, 2010 by wymberley

steve_b_wales
On my Cobra Merlin, for added IR 'light' I use a Cluson Blaserlite with IR filter. This is scope mounted. I realise that the Pulsar is different to a 'normal' scope, but by using the Blaserlite, I can clearly identify objects up to 150+ yards. Steve. GP1
The price of an Laserluchs IR is around £450 to £499 in my eyes this is a waste of money, its bad enough spending £145 on an ir laser which is as good as the Laserluchs

You don;t have to spend £100's on Laserlights etc, when you can use an 'ordinary' lamp with IR filter. I tried an extra IR laser on my Cobra, but found that useing the Blaserlite/IR filter, gave me a vast amount of IR.

Beardo
I have a deben tracer mini and a home made ir filter (do a search on here for ir Perspex, I found a very cheap supplier a while ago), works way better than the dedicated ir illuminator I own.
