hello all,

my 5 month old hob ferret has seem to have caught a cold and is constantly sneezing, as farsical as this sounds im quite concerned about him, he is eating well but shivers often, i have moved him into the garage and placed huge amounts of straw into his bedding area to keep him warm but the weather here is not getting above -2 in the day!

any advice would be well received, cheers!

i always used to bring myne inside in the winter and put a decent lamp abobve the bed to keep them warm

i prefer to use shredded paper than straw, no ticks fleas and it seems to me as if it will be comfier for them

ferrets do suffer badly in the cold and need plenty of warm fresh bedding

i used to pull the fat out of anything i shot and give them that aswell

heat lamp, keep bedding topped up and give them abit of fatty food :good:

As above, get him inside, maybe a little egg and milk as a top up! As a young one he needs all the best food you can give him......

Ferrets do catch colds, quiet like humans do (Hence why there are also used as a lab animal to test out various colds/cures on).

Treat him like a human with a cold (nice a warm, good food). And he'll be right as rain within a week, if he looks like he's loosing alot of weight/fur go see a vet.
