Daveo26
I was on the look out for a cheap side by side a few weeks ago and whilst in my local gun shop i was offered a spanish masters for £25 It was a bit rough. The biggest problem was the stock chipped at the toe. Also the gun had a horrible wildfolwing sticker on the stock and all the varnish was bubbled up on the stock, one of the striker discs was loose so i had to make a spanner to tighten it up and the safety was auto Iv removed the damaged bit of stock, refinished the woodwork and polished the metal work. All the left now is to fit a thicker recoil pad to make up for the shortened stock. Iv plugged the original screw holes with hardwood dowels so i can drill new holes where they need to be. The only concern is the lack of choke but the proof will be in the shooting and i can feel some choke in the R/H barrel when i pushed a cleaning rag through it. Its a shame its not a nice English gun but it was cheap and interesting to clean up. I'll get some pics up when its done. Anyone else saved a gun from the brink? Beretta28g
If youve shortened the barrels and theres some spare meat there could you not get it multichoked? It would sort out the problem. Nice write up looking forward to piccies. Edited December 17, 2010 by Beretta28g
Daveo26
I could but bearing in mind the gun cost £25 and now stands me at about £50 its not really worth doing. welshwarrior
looks good I use a SBS that has very little choke at times and it works well for rough shooting. Just give it ago on clays then the get out and use it be confident with it.

Daveo26
Ill try it next weekend, its bloody light and short. I normally shoot a Miroku with 30" barrels  I suspect it might be too "whippy" I wont be putting any blackgold through it

Brought (yet another hammergun) from pw with broken stock but really good barrels/action, have now been using for a few months with no problems. Will be posting a pic along with my other guns soon in pictures section.
