Country_est
Hubertus, What a lovley looking dog. What is the german spaniel like for general feild work. Ie do they have any more sense than an ESS. I currently have a black lab but could well fancy one like yours for my next dog. They look a bit like an Irish / Red setter. Trev. Hubertus
What is the german spaniel like for general feild work.Ie do they have any more sense than an ESS. In German the dog is called the Waldgebrauchshund. That means, that it is mainly a dog for the wood and for the water. It is not a field specialist as all the german pointer are. He is good for retrieving in any case, does good work in the water and is the specialist for flushing out game. We do mainly driven days with the dog on deer. They are the best dog for that purpose in my opinion. So if you are looking for a field specialist it is not the first choice. And they are brilliant dogs for the family. They fight with wounded boar and kill a racoon and the evening they play with little children in the house. Hubertus
