bruno22rf
Just come out of Hospital where i had ample oportunity to read the 2 most popular Airgun mags on sale.Am i alone in thinking that there has rarely been so much bullplop printed in one place?Try as they might they never seem to find fault with any gun they test-is this,i wonder, because they are paid by the makers/importers? Im still wondering why one test on the R10 was telling how he was getting 5-shot one hole groups at 30 yards and was thus going to try at 40 yards?-surely if the pellets are all going thru the same hole at 30 yards then the only thing to stop them doing so at 40 woukd be the wind?-which is totally beyond the control of the gun.I think that these "articles" are written by guys who have trained to be polititions as well-they can talk for paragraphs and say nothing-one article actually included a paragraph by the author explaining that he wasnt going to beat around the bush-think i,ll buy Viz in future. Dekers
...and this you only just noticed? Sorry I couldn't resist. Yes, its a sad joke and has been going on for as many years as I can remember. ALL the shooting/fieldsports magazines are the same, although perhaps not generally quite so blatently obvious about it as the air rifle mags! ATB! Albion
Exactly what I've thought on many occasions. If you compare reviews of say an SMK rifle and a Weihrauch, you might be left wondering what the difference in price is actually buying you. Pretty misleading at times
pabs
Funny this thread should come up. I bought a copy of Airgun World( Jan 2011) after not buying one for a good few years. What a bunch of sycophantic tosh. £3.80 too!! Shan't be buying again..
FalconFN
Gun mags are like any other magazine, they are funded mainly by advertising (the cover price pays for printing, the distribution, gives the newsagent a cut and earns a small amount for the publisher). As there is limited number of gun companies, with limited ad budgets, they can't risk annoying them with a bad reviews. Best to buy them for the features and ads, and not the 'reviews'. bullet boy
I used to buy Airgunner and Airgun World every month of every year at one time,I don't buy any Airgun Mags anymore as they were both saying the same things and the reviews on say a particular rifle for example was covered by both magazines!I simply got fed up of basicly the same reviews by both Mags! I only buy Sporting Rifle now which IMO is superb.
The Duncan
agree with consensus on the airgun comics - read em for years and came to the same conclusion re: sycophantic drivel. I occasionally get shooting times and Sporting Gun. Entertaining and ST seems to give a broader view than many.

Dekers
Out of curiosity i`m gonna buy one in the next few days to see if anything has changed-for the better that is!!! I wouldn't bother, I get one at the Game Fair usually, once a year is more than enough just to keep up to date with what's around and happening. I have a subscription to a "Shooting Magazine" which I seriously believe is only one step away from being a comic, but at least the ads are up to date and show you what is new!
