RC45
I have been looking at getting a gun for the kids, what do you suggest. I would prefer new and something that will last a few years. I currently have a Bettinsoli that I use for Skeet, are the new one's any good? I can't afford any more as I need to buy two
njc110381
I'd buy a Baikal. In fact I did, and I love it. It's never let me down which is more than can be said for the Beretta I had! It even has selective ejectors! 3" magnum chambers, steel proof, multichoke - £600. You can have a 20g for the same price if you want to start slightly smaller? Shropshire_Lad
Hi, we got a mk111 in 20 bore for the wife and daughters to use. It has TSA recoil pads which you can get in different lengths and the stock has an adjustable comb which will raise up and down as well as left and right making it easy to fit. We got it for £650 at the midland new with a couple of rack marks on it.......I seem to be using it a LOT! atvb Paul.

RC45
My first gun was a Silver Pigeon, could not get on with it. I might look a the Baikal, but there were not many on Guntrader in 20g. No hurry, I will keep looking. Cheers for the replies.
plinker
dont get a new cheap gun get a 2nd hand browning /miroku and it will allways hold its value so if you need to chop it in you wont lose much if not they last well. all bases covered. HDAV
Kids? How old? What experience? What will they be shooting? Is £900 for both or each?
RC45
OK I have had a thought. I will buy one 20 bore up to 1k. I might also use it myself, I would prefer multichoke as I want to try them on Skeet first. One is 10 the other 8 and are both booked on a one hour lesson. HDAV
I'd wait till after the lesson and speak to the coach as 8 and 10 is quite young and a 28 bore may be more suited short term, and likely going to need a short stock which changes the balance point. RC45
Yeah I thought that might be the case, thanks for the input. Phil

HDAV
Perhaps best to wait a while, it would seem a real shame to cut up £1k worth of berretta/Miroku 20 bore for a couple years when the gun will last 30+ otherwise. Cut down ones do crop up from time to time what with kids growing etc so perhaps keep an eye out and keep feeding them lessons in the meantime. Or just buy your self a nice tidy 20 bore in the knowledge that in 5-6 years they will be using your 12 bore!!!
