Shropshire_Lad
Hi, I'm not good enough to tell if its a no.2 or a 711. the 711's were cheaper and around in the mid 80's from what I remember when I was looking for a no.2, a few bought 711's thinking they were no.2's. If its a 711 there is one on google search at £695. I'm sure someone will put you right soon enough, good luck. I could be talking twadle though, just something that sticks in my mind. atvb Paul. utectok
Thanks paul I've never heard of 711 that's interesting. My grandad bought the gun in the 80s second hand but I can't find anything on it about the model! ;(
PhilR
I think it was a 712 with raised rib, pistol grip and single trigger. The no 2 had a game rib and could be had with a single trigger (I had one).
Shropshire_Lad
interesting reading; http://www.aya-fineguns.com/historia_en.php?kind=Aguirre%20y%20Aranzabal%20desde%201938%20hasta%20nuestros%20dias there were a few short term models during the mid 80's it seems. atvb Paul. utectok
Pretty sure it's a game rib straight hand stock. No little lever on the sideplate tho whatever that is for?

Shropshire_Lad
the only pic of a 711 I could find; http://www.pooshka.com/gun-value.php?poo_model_id=832 not sure which is the 711 as the left hand one looks to have detachable locks so I would guess the right hand one in the pic. atvb Paul. Alycidon
http://www.aya-fineguns.com/detalles_en.php?wgo=62&wval=40&main=SHOTGUNS This shows the engraving pattern and no sidelock removal lever but in a round action, I suspect yours is a hybred number 2. From the serial number ASI will be able to advise you. A Edited January 4, 2011 by Alycidon
utectok
thanks Alycidon thats interesting guns at my dads so not sure how long the barrels are?
utectok
maybe the 25 moble was a boxlock http://www.gunseller.co.uk/buy/shotgun/aya-25_M2NlNTg2ZmY/
Alycidon
The 25 was done as a ' best' boxlock and a sidelock, Forget the barrel length, I am pretty sure its not a 25 now I have found the engraving. Nice light game guns, I have one as a spare. A Edited January 4, 2011 by Alycidon

utectok
AYA said this super quick reply but maybe I got the serial wrong? hard to read in the pic and my dad is away at present. Dear Sir, According our records, gun serial nº 188196 is model 117- year 1964. Production of this model was stopped a long time ago and this is the only information we have in our records. regards.
