Another two Foxes :)

Hiya,

I decided to nip out to the farm with the triple for a few hours tonight to see if there were anymore Foxes about, as usual the first thing I do is go to the end of the yard and scan the fields with the white light on max to see where the cows are. As luck would have it they were all in the field to my right and low and behold there was a pair of eye looking back at me from about 300 yrds out over to the left. I loaded up on of my 50 grain V-MAX and set the gun up on the bi pod, then gave a couple of squeaks waited for about a minute and then put the lamp back on at half power with the amber filter. The eyes were now just on a hundred yards out, so I put the cross-hairs a tad below them and let rip the V-MAX.. exit Fox no 1.

I didnt have to wait long for the next one to show up, again a pair of eyes about 300 yrds out this time however it was not interested in my squeaks so a change of plan was in order. I moved position to the middle of the first field, scanned again but there was no sign of him then about 10 min later I caught the eyes about 200 yrds to my left. Unfortunately he was in a bit of a dip so I couldn't see him through the scope, I tried squeaking but he wasn't interested but he was slowly working toward me. At about 80 yrds I could just see the top of his back through the scope, so while tracking him I gave another squeak and right on cue he lifted his head and looked at me giving a clear shot at it. The thud of the V-Max was probably the loudest I've heard yet and he dropped like a stone exit fox no 2 :)

I decided not to be greedy and call it a night, which was just as well as the fog started to roll in.
