Chopped game cover

Was allowed on the estate for a few hours on sunday morning to have a bash over some chopped game cover that i had cut to bring the pigeons off the rape a bit .Met my mate at 9am and took him to his spot and made his hide from bales while he put out some decoys ,i had not got back to my truck and he was shooting and there was loads flying about .

I got to my spot and built the hide and i put a few decoys out . The wind was strong and into my face but a few birds about ,my first shot put up well over 2000 from a nearby wood and then the action began .It was great sport but not good on the cartridge per bird and it was the same for my mate but we did not care really . There was birds all over the place and it never really stopped . We packed up at 12.15pm like we was told to after a good few hours of fast and great sport .

Ipicked 42 and the found another 10 on the way back to my truck my mate picked 52 so 104 between us in just over 3 hours

A estate near marlborough has way over 10000 birds on chopped cover a gang of us are going to shoot it on the first sat in feb with roosting from two expecting a mega bag.

Cheers OTH

Nice

Ive got 38 cover strips to choose from but i will cut a few at a time so they dont spread out over them all tho there is that many birds on the estate i dont think it would matter too much

I will be roost shooting in my wood on the first sat after hare shooting lets hope its windy :good:
