Catamong
Entries are now open for this event via the FITASC website. It's being held at a lovely ground near Amiens, which I've shot twice in the last 2 years. It will be a cracking shoot, with 8 layouts over the 4 days. It's not cheap, 245 Euro's, that's over £1 a bird.., but it will be as great experience a true World Championship, unlike the Beretta World, where you'd now struggle to find a single overseas competitor. I reckon the Potters might be up for it, anybody else planning on going..?? Cat.

Mungler
Paulos, you had better verify the information in this thread with the organisers, it could be wrong. (high pitched little girl giggle)

Not this year Cat, although I'd agree that if it's anything like the European in 09 it will be a shoot to remember, no targets that are ridiculously difficult but by God you've got to work hard to build up a respectable score. Got too much on (financially) this year to do this and I want to shoot the Dutch GP in August. A word of caution, if you are thinking of shooting this, don't hesitate it will fill up very quickly and some people will be disappointed and once you've booked the shoot reserve some accommodation as that can book up for the nearer towns as well. Go for it, you won't regret it. Monsieur Potter
Nicky T
I wish i could make it but it clashes with a little bit of work in the States Maybe next year
MC
I'm seriously considering it...I'm doing sums as I speak. Not doing geography at school then? Orville France is a hell of a lot further south than Riseley, Bedfordshire  And you will have to stay overnight which I thought was a big NO NO

Monsieur Potter Shame you can't make it, Mr P, it certainly will be a good shoot, George will have some serious competition on this one, I will of course do a full write up with Pics after the event so you can see what you've missed. I've thought about shooting the Dutch one, but I think it clashes with the World Compak Champs in Italy that I'll also be doing this year, so you can't be in 2 places at one time, more's the pity. I think the grounds switched to all steel shot, which is also a bit of a turn off for me, they're hard enough to break with 28 grams of lead. I've booked both the Tunnel for the crossing and the Hotel, so we're all set, all we need is the weather. Cat.

Cat. Cat, I think the country has banned lead not just the ground After near riots on the old clay******* site about steel being the work of the devil himself, the few Brits who shot the Dutch GP last year, including DW himself, came back with no horror stories and were suprised at the distances they were getting good kills at!! Don't get me wrong, given a choice it's lead every time but when in Rome etc. Are you doing the European Compak in Latvia?, that is an outside bet for me, If I could just conquer my fear of flying and give that a go, I'm certainly thinking about it. MC
Stick to Gamebore Steel and you won't notice a difference. They are the only ones worth shooting unless you can get some American cartridges.

Mr Potter I've not decided yet about the European Compak in Estonia, I won't need to book until nearer the time as it won't be full, it's likely to be a very good shoot, but I'll have to see how busy I am work wise around that time. And if MC likes shooting steel then that's up to him, I've noticed he can't seem to hit a cows backside with a shovel, so I don't suppose it matters what he puts up the spout. Cat. MC
Noone mentioned liking shooting steel, however as a wildfowler first and foremost I have to. I have used every sort available and unless you can get Remingtons then Gamebore are a very close second. But as you don't seem to want advice then shove it up your **** Oh and when you come back and report how bad steel is because you used some inferior cheap **** then I will be the first to say I TOLD YOU SO, Gamebore steel is excellent, endorsed by the big man himself. Thanks for that MC, the consensus from those who shot Holland last year was exactly the same They started off with Gamebore Black Gold but found them too punchy, they switched to White Gold and found they were getting just as good kills but they were a lot softer on the shoulder. So if I go it will definitely be White Gold for me. I'm not a great fan of Black Gold in lead, a mate gave me a box of them in fibre and I gave him back what was left after 1 stand, my shoulder was wrecked after 8 shots where as White Gold or possibly Eley VIPs, are my favorite fibre cartridges. MC
Black Gold are good but as you say punchy. I use Super steel in a 32gr no.4 for shooting inland ducks. They are as good as any lead cartridge I used to use. The white gold are softer than both the black gold and Super steel though. All will kill clays well enough.
