roosting

After an abysmal attempt at trying to shoot some clays at the Hampshire meet today, I thought I would take out my frustration on the woodys, so I popped up the woods for a bit of roost shooting

Backfired big time  couldn't hit a ******* barn door

Packed up when I got to the point of wanting to wrap my gun around a tree, picked up 4 woodys (lost 1) and a crow.

Better than nothing I suppose :good:

As said before we all have days like that, I had 11 shots this morning for 2 squirrel's and a pigeon, Mind you I was doing a lot of drey busting seen as it's the end of the game season, thought I had to do my part to get rid of a few of the ground nesting birds predators. It seems a little expensive when your using Sterling Game cartridges :L

Chris,

had the exact same just before xmas-40 shots for 2 birds.

somehow got it into my head to stop my swinging through.......conquered it by having to think before pulling the trigger.no idea why as i've had 12 days on mixed game and several afternoon on roosting. anyway once i'd vanquised my demons normal service has been resumed.

i think the old adage of 'you dont miss in front with a shotgun' still stands true.

regards

Mate, I would have given my left nut to have shot that number of birds on Sunday!! Finally been allowed to shoot on the land as the game season is now wrapping up, so picked out my spot after watching teh day before whilst beating. 3 Strong flight lines across this patch.........3 hours later 12 shots and naff all in the bag!! My excuse......eye is out due to lack of pigeon shooting for the last 4 months, well it kind of takes the edge of the disasterous shooting a bit :hmm:
