Oly
I'm likely to start passing by this shop a lot with work shortly and I was just wondering if anyone has had any good/bad experiences with this shop - buying/selling guns and the quality of the gunsmith work? Scully
Bought a lot of guns from this shop in the past, especially when pistols were more readily available. Always got on well with them, especially the son(think the father must be passed retirement age by now)but don't seem to get down ther so often these days.Well stocked shop, guns, fishing, clothing. Got a very good estimation as to the value of my pistols when they were banned,HO didn't even quibble it!
Salop Matt
I bought my .22lr off them 18 months ago at the MGF ! All very pleasant and happy service ! They would certainatly get my custom again !
Gordon R
They are average, but their stock is not brilliant. They had a Miroku grade 5 trap in recently which had had the Saddam Hussain of all hard times. It was very, very poor on its best day. webber
I've not been into Fawcets for a few years as I've not been to Lancaster; but I have bought several items from them over the years and always had excellent service. They don't have hundreds of guns on display, but that wouldn't deter me from visiting. Polite and helpful, better than a few guns shops I've been in, well worth a visit, but parking can be a bit tricky if you don't feed the metre enough money. webber
BlaserF3
I have bought one gun off them a lot of years ago. The son is much more easy going than what his Dad was. The fishing content outnumbers the guns, but I suppose it's easier to sell. The main problem is parking though.
Gordon R
Mike - tell me about it. Last time my wife and I went to Lancaster, I was intending going in Fawcett's - can't even remember what I went in for. I circled the centre a few times. In the end, my wife dumped me at the shop and circled the block until I came out. It's a real drawback, compared to Bamfords and Malmo. polester
I have heard a few poor reports about them from people round here most wont deal with them and would rather travel a bit further and go to Malmo's. I found them poor to deal with when I tried to order some bits off them only to be told each week I rang that the items were due in that week and to ring back. After 6wks I was told they only put an order in when they have enough to make it worth their while. This I don't mind but being lied to I didn't appreciate so I wont use them again. As I said this is just my experience of them
BlaserF3
Gordon, There are a few small car parks within 200 yards and if you're lucky there might be a space on the side streets, but it's not very good. When I bought cartridges from there I used to park on the double yellows, at the side of the shop and leave a note in the windscreen, never received a ticket.
