gaz-loc
Hey there folks needing some help and advice. Im aware 222's could be described as a tad old school but thats what i have on my FAC and im not going through the trouble of changing to 223 until my certificate renewal. been looking at some 222 rifle and i've hit the problem most people say abt 222 these days. availability. and my conclusion so far is that basically only tikka and sako do them new at a reasonable price but still too expensive. Just wondering if there are any more manufacturers who do it at a cheaper price? just for a chuck abt till i change. iv looked at second hand and where i live there really is no choice for 222 at my rfd. cheers

jasper3
hello mate.. After reading about the 222 on here and doing plenty of research, I also decided to opt for a 222 my lttle fields are about 180-220 yds long with good back stops I am a Weihrauch tart and have opted for two choices in 222 the 1st being the Weihrauch HW 60j or the HW 66 I am also geting the 22LR and 17HMR in the weihrauch HW60j you do pay a bit more but the engineering and trigger is superb
njc110381
Have a look on Guntrader. There are some great cheap rifles on there and keep in mind that if you can find a cheap bargain it only costs around £50 to have it sent via RFD (£25 to send and £25 at your end to sign it over to you). A while back my RFD had one in and wanted £100 for it I think. It was well used but functional and for that price you could just scrap it later or certainly get your money back if you sold it! I was looking it up for a custom base but then decided it would be too expensive a project at the moment. Al's number is 01285 740898 if you want to ask if he still has it? Steel100
Most of the good contenders have already been mentioned, but the Austrian manufactured Steyr Mannlicher is also available in .222. I used to have a full-stock SL Carbine in .223 and regret having parted with it. They sometimes come up at auction. Rgds Andy
