dougall
No4 shot ideal,No 5 ok if being driven at you. Dont shoot at a hare running away from you..if you hit their back legs you'll hear a scream like a boiled baby.. It really is a big animal so 36g No4s my suggestion(presuming 12 gauge). ATB. al4x
I used 32g rio 4's last year and they were ok, I used express 32g 4's this year and they seemed better. You don't need to go too heavy as you won't be shooting at distance if they are driven right. The stiller you stay when one is running at you the better till its well within range. I shot a dozen on saturday on a day and most were single shot kills with the odd one needing a second just to be sure. All you have to remember is safety and the fact if you're a walking gun the lighter the gun you take the better

al4x
may be worth calling, we only have one anywhere near here that stocks 4's, most just have game and clay loads rather than lead of a sensible size
proTOM1
4s or 5s in 32g or 34g are best really ive used 6s 30g but make sure i keep the distance down and place the shot well but most of the time i use 5s rc sipe are good , i only shot 3 this sat gone but only shot at 4 and missed the other cleanly
