pestforce
Hi guys Any suggestions on a good hunting pellet to use in my Airarms S410 carbine in .177. I currently use airarms diabolo field .177 but sometimes dont feel it delivers a clean enough kill. Any ideas much appreciated.
gyp
Thats the same pellet i use (although .22) and seems to work for me?
pestforce
Thanks for reply, i also have a little bsa springer in .22 great stopping power close up but struggles at range. just wondered if there was a pellet that shoots as well thu the s410 with just a little more bite at the business end (ps this might not exist)
FalconFN
I'd find the most accurate pellet for your rifle, you'll probably find that what you're using is best. I used to use Bisley Magnum pellets as I was told that, being heavier, they hit harder but I had too many pellets going straight through so have changed to JSB exact (baisically the same as AA field) and they tend to deform and flattern much better and transmit all of their energy to the target. Since changing I've only had clean kills which is partly due to having better accuracy/less pellet drop and party due to them deforming better. Baisiclly pellet placement is more important than 'hitting power' with a .177.

gyp
Funny you say that about going straight through, i had one go through a rabbit head this night, fisrt time i've ever noticed one going straight through.
jackinbox99
I use the same as you in .22, so not sure if the .177 versions are just as good. Id reocommend getting one of those sample packs, where you get a few of all the main manufactorers. Then you can see what works best in your gun. No point in buying a full tin if they arnt going to be right.
HoTsHoT-10
I use jsb and air arms field and get very clean kills using them along with my .177 S400. There spot on

ste12b
For my AA S400 .177 I use RWS superdome, great for accuracy and have killed everything I have hit
vampire
In my AA 410 .177 i used bisley long range then switched to rws superfields and stuck with them as they hit and kill what you shoot at.
Ratsmasher
Ive also got s410 carbine in .177 and i use RWS Super H Point cracking little pellet accurate over range and Ive dug a couple aout of kills and they expand like a mushroom
demonwolf444
in my lower power .22 i can use wasps and rws supa point ( just the way the guy im mmy local shop pronounces it ) as they seem to hold the same zero, but it doesnt work in the higher powered one where i just use wasps, and in the .177 i just use wasps they arnt shiney and expensive but they still get the job done
