Dunkield
I'm glad they are sorting a replacement out for Stuartp, 2 for 1 aint bad. Can I ask, how much did it cost you as I notice you mention it being economy? I'm thinking of the possibilty of fitting a Thumbhole to my Quad. Well... It started out as $55 But then with the extra's + CZ are a special order it ended up at about $130 shipped, which is still cheap if you compare that to factory stocks. Just a bit of a wait.. I haven't had the time to do any more to it, but I will fix the crack and finish it off while I am waiting for stock number 2 to arrive. If this does fix up and finish OK I will keep this one and flog the other one - so watch this space.. And no, I don't think I will be doing chequering, although it would be challange. As you say, CZ make good cheap guns but I have no idea where they get their wood from, some sort of plastic trees I think :*)

dunganick
unfortuantly the metal work is about 2 weeks at least behind it. it should arrive here this week, however then needs proofing, im not best impressed with fox firearms, if i can help it i wont deal with him again i was told i would have the gun 2nd week of febuary without the metal work i cant bed the stock, although i can start trying to finish it. Also need to wait for the metal work before i can run up some run-in rounds or a starting load. my ticket is just sat here collecting dust... its really pretty sad Edited April 3, 2006 by dunganick

dunganick
i have been. As i am normally at school everyday while he is open, so my old man has been following him up. And it seems he is just a bit lazy, he hadnt got around to asking them to ship the shipment from the states. So not best impressed. But what can you do, he is the only person who will ship Howa's to my knoledge. Although i think litts do as well as of recently (after i ordered my gun) just means for now i will have to use the old mans guns and ammo..... oh well
Dunkield
Any news on the stock mate? whats happening, have you chosen to keep the damaged one as well as accepting the new one, or have you sold that? Sorry Nick, only just saw this.. Well I have been quietly working in the background, now it is established that I will be getting another stock and this one doesn't need to go back. So I have glued this one up and have sanded it down, and considering I am not that bothered about fancy wood etc I have to say iI am impressed with the overall quality of the pice of wood. It becomes 'economy' becuase of the knot and the fact the grain is very open in places. I have fitted the action into it, front and rear swivels have been fitted and I am in the process of glass bedding it. It should be done soon which is just well as I am getting fed up with looking at at :( and the missus just tuts when I get it out and start rubbing it again - if you know what I mean :o As this has come out OK, when the replacement arrives I will take some pictures of it and offer it up for sale on here or ebay, if no one on here wants it. Dunkield
Not as much as I am looking forward to it being ready mate, I stink of linsead oil all the time now (which some may say is an improvement ) It's come up very dark, but I am not an exhibition grade walnut person so to me it is just a reasonable lump of timber.
