twitchynik
Cheers fella. Good to see (for me..!) that the unit is still just a few minutes walk away They've not updated who the FEO's will be in your area yet though.
Catamong
Thanks for the info, folks ought to be aware that this Police station doesn't open every day, and there doesn't appear to be any facility for hand delivery of SGC renewal forms outside of the opening hours. So, check the opening hours before you visit. All part of the ever diminishing level of Customer Service offered at an ever increasing cost to us Council Tax payers. Cat. SilentKill
I assume they will amalgamate the FEO's as there is no way they can handle that whole area on just one forces FEO's

al4x
So for some its pretty much the same as before, e-mail still seems to be getting read for notifying changes RFirearmslicensing@Herts.pnn.police.uk
SilentKill
I have to admit that Herts have always been ok for me, but it will be interesting to see how this money saving scheme affects productivity! Twitchy be under no illusions it's all about saving costs!

SilentKill
Got to love forums! But here's a great one for you! Herts are a top 5 force in the UK beds are a bottom 5 force out of 44 forces. Thank s that we didn merge fully!
al4x
Beds do have Luton and Bedford to contend with though. Licensing wise both seem to have been pretty reasonable so far
Billy.
Absolutely get in there Literally a two minute walk from my house and I can only say good things about how that FLD go out of their way to ensure quick turnarounds and good communication. Yes always had a good service from Herts, BUT i wonder if this will continue with double the work load now...
SilentKill
More than likely there will be teething problems but hopefully they will be sorted fairly sharpish
Beardo
thankfully it's staying at Harpenden - always been great there in the past
Billy.
thankfully it's staying at Harpenden - always been great there in the past If you come to think of it, they would only roll everything into the most efficient office, not the other way round... It must be the case, as there are plenty of other places in Herts and Beds they could of used. Plus, the Harpenden station isn't exactly on the same scale as the HQ in Welwyn - It must be one of the smallest venues in fact. Pretty cramped inside too - I've done time in there. Gnome of the Woods
I handed my SGC in Friday with some effort. Sent an email to them on Sunday night asking for confirmation of receipt. They replied Tuesday morning that all was OK. The reply was from Laura Lui, Firearms Licensing Dept. Still with a Herts police email. I did also notice that the Herts police updated there website on Tuesday and none of my old bookmarks to the FLO worked. Just in case anybody else has the relevent pages saved. They are open Mo: 08:00-14:00 & 15:00-17:00 Tu: Closed We: 08:00-14:00 & 15:00-17:00 Th: Closed Fr: 08:00-14:00 & 15:00-17:00 Sa: Closed Su: Closed
